Autonomy · The Language of Training

Escape Velocity

Thirty-seven sessions that teach the language of training — pacing, efficiency, fatigue, and real strength, one concept at a time. Not a schedule to follow, but a way to think.

Autonomy · Self-Awareness

what it is

Learning the language of training.

The Escape Velocity Program is designed to help players understand the language of training and develop autonomy in their fitness journey. Unlike traditional programs that dictate schedules and provide rigid guidance, this program emphasizes flexibility — encouraging you to adapt sessions based on your own readiness, recovery, and life circumstances.

The goal is not only to improve fitness but to teach you how to think critically about your training, fostering self-awareness and independence.

how it works

Three hard, three exploratory.

This 6–10 week program includes three hard sessions and three exploratory sessions per week, with at least one rest day. Take as long as is required to finish — pay attention to your recovery and take notes on how you feel throughout the week.

By testing baseline parameters, recording metrics, and retesting after completion, you can track progress while staying curious and engaged throughout the process.

Michael Blevins

Coach behind Man of Steel · Justice League · 300 : Rise of an Empire

No one questions the accomplished man. An accomplished man gets there by questioning everything. Michael Blevins arrived at coaching by way of a single question asked of his own body — how much better can this get? The answer took him through Muay Thai and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, hundreds of bike races, a decade of endurance sport, and eventually into the work of building the bodies behind the screen. He founded Heavy Meta and The Space Program to put the method in other people's hands.

I’ve been training with Michael and Erin in some capacity or another since 2020 — through training camps, the Quest for the Hypertrophy, and Endurance.

After years of lifting and martial arts on my own, taking the training methodology seriously has helped me, at nearly 40:

  • Regain control of my body, and fight off injury.
  • Have people ask me, “Hey. Have you been working out? You’re looking jacked.”
  • Have the type of endurance during jiu jitsu rounds to be a serious problem.
  • Change my internal self-talk from entirely negative to supportive and encouraging, in a way that years of therapy couldn’t crack.

It’s also fun. Novel. Engaging. You can’t check out — it forces you to pay attention, but it doesn’t leave you unable to train the next day. You find yourself able to do things. You’ll build your capability without a lot of needless suffering.

To be clear: there will be suffering, but it will be productive. You will learn things about yourself, and have no illusions about what you can and cannot realistically do — which is invaluable.

And if you want to meet people who get it — and are prepared to welcome you with open arms if you’re prepared to trust the process — come meet everyone in person at a camp or event.
